Tatjana Gretschmann
BSc (Hons) LicAc MBAcC
I qualified as an acupuncturist with a BSc (Hons) degree from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, having studied both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element acupuncture.
The TCM style focuses more on the physical body, while Five Element acupuncture addresses the connection between mind, body and spirit and acknowledges that mental and emotional issues can be a source of many physical ailments. The combination of these approaches allows for a holistic treatment that supports the wellbeing of the whole person.
My special interest is in women’s health, particularly emotional and hormonal balance. From experience I know that acupuncture has much to offer women at every stage of their lives, supporting women on their journeys from pre-conception, pregnancy, post-birth, to peri-/menopause and beyond.
One of my primary professional aims is to support clients at times of transition, be it through times of sickness, changes in life circumstances, or simply the natural ageing process.
I am continually developing my knowledge of Chinese Medicine and have undertaken extensive postgraduate training, including a PGDip in Gynaecology, Fertility and Obstetric Acupuncture, which encompasses pre-conception care, natural and assisted conception, pregnancy and post-birth support.
I am currently undertaking a two-year PGDip in Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Northern College of Acupuncture, which will allow me to support my clients even further.
As a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) I am bound by strict Codes of Safe Practice and Professional Conduct, that ensure that patients are offered the highest standards of professional care. I am also a member of the Acupuncture Childbirth Team London (ACT), a group of specialist acupuncturists supporting women through fertility, pregnancy and childbirth.
My acupuncture practice is supported by my life-long engagement in various mind-body healing practices, including yoga, qigong and meditation.
